Electronic VIN (E-VIN) is required for DEQ Too
1996 and newer vehicles have OBD ports. While you should be able to find your port using the above tool, that does not necessarily mean your vehicle is compatible with DEQ Too. In order for the DEQ Too program to obtain OBD data from your vehicle, it must have an E-VIN. Typically that's the case for 2005 and newer model years; but some older models have E-VINs and some newer models do not. If your vehicle does not have an E-VIN, the device used at a Device-Borrowing Location will throw an error message.
